Tim Johnson is on the path to recovery and has returned to work in the Senate. Knowing he had to focus all his energies on recovery earlier this year, Johnson's Democratic Senate colleagues took it upon themselves to help him raise campaign funds in the second quarter. Democrats do not foresee a strong challenger to Johnson - most Republicans in the state are highly inexperienced, though far-right State Representative Joel Dykstra has formed a campaign committee.
