But maybe not.
The Ricketts campaign points to a similar hurdle facing Chuck Hagel in 1996 when he trailed Nelson by double digits. Hagel seized the momentum, steadily closed the gap in October and eventually won by a ton.
But this is different.
Pete Ricketts is not Chuck Hagel.
This is not the same Ben Nelson.
On the other hand, the political landscape has changed.
