The Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee on Monday announced its endorsement of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
"Sen. Stabenow has been a strong and consistent supporter of Michigan veterans," Michigan State VFW Adjutant/Quartermaster Rob Weiss said in a statement.
Stabenow unveiled an ad in which a veteran praises her for helping to stop a Bush administration proposal that would have raised prescription drug costs for some veterans.
Stabenow, D-Lansing, is seeking re-election to a second six-year term. She is opposed by Republican Mike Bouchard, who is the Oakland County sheriff.
