A new poll shows U.S. Representative Katherine Harris trails U.S. Senator Bill Nelson by 28 percentage points in her bid to unseat the first-term Democrat.
Nelson is favored by 61 percent compared to 33 percent who preferred Harris, with six percent undecided. The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute gathered the results from a random telephone sampling of 783 likely voters. Polls were conducted October third through the eighth.
In a larger sampling of 968 registered voters, Nelson is favored by 56 percent to Harris's 31 percent with 11 percent undecided.
The survey of likely voters carries a margin of error or plus or minus three-point-five percentage points while the larger sampling of registered voters was plus or minus three-point-two percentage points.
