Landrieu plans rewrite of FEMA regulations

U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu says that in view of problems stemming from Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, she intends to rewrite regulations governing the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Landrieu, who heads a U.S. Senate Homeland Security subcommittee that governs FEMA, said other areas of the nation are going to experience disasters, either natural or terrorist-inspired, and federal agencies need to be prepared.
