Pryor adds to campaign coffers

Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., added more than $565,000 to his growing campaign war chest the last three months, pushing the amount he has raised this year past $4 million.

Pryor reported raising $565,338 from July to September, according to a campaign finance report he must file by Monday.

His cash on hand as of Sept. 30 was $3.27 million, his campaign reported in a news release Thursday.

Pryor's campaign provided the first four pages of a detailed financial statement due to the secretary of the Senate by Monday.

So far, no one has announced plans to challenge the first-term senator and former state attorney general. Experts have said Pryor's aggressive fundraising this year may deter possible opponents.

Pryor is expecting a general election fight, said spokesman Michael Teague.
