Pryor talks student aid, health care with local college students

U. S. Sen. Mark Pryor didn't brush up on his advanced math Tuesday afternoon when he entered Craig McBride's Survey of Calculus class at NorthWest Arkansas Community College."The last thing you want me to do is try and teach calculus," he said.
Instead, students were interested to hear what Pryor had to say about the state of student financial aid and universal health care in the United States.
Pryor visited briefly with students after taking a tour of the college's new student center Tuesday afternoon.
He said he's working in Congress to reform the student loan process and to increase the amount in Pell grants for the state of Arkansas.
Pryor also spoke about health care in the United States, something he feels is in need of an overhaul.
He listened to concerns of a student who cannot attend class, work part time and obtain health insurance.
