Congress goes back into session today after its August recess.

Johnson, a Democrat serving his second term from South Dakota, is scheduled to address the Senate on Wednesday. Spokeswoman Julianne Fisher said last week that Johnson’s desk and office have been modified to accommodate a wheelchair, and his staff is finding routes through the Capitol that contain few or no stairs.
