In light of all of those recent toy recalls, a new piece of legislation has been introduced to help ban lead in toys and other products that children use.

rss feedRepresentative Tom Allen is co-sponsoring the bill, which is being called the "Safe Consumer Product Act." He unveiled the details of the legislation at ABC Toys in Portland Monday.
Allen says the act was established to fix the broken system now in place to help keep our children safe.
"This legislation will tighten the regulation of all toys manufactured here or abroad. It will stiffen the penalty for those who break the rules and reassure American families that their kids' toys are safe," said Allen.
